Relational and developmental trauma often stems from early experiences of emotional neglect, inconsistency, betrayal, or unsafe attachment — and it can continue to shape adult relationships, emotional regulation, and self-trust long after the original events have passed.
At Mzima Counselling, individual therapy focuses on understanding how past relational wounds are still influencing present patterns. Using a trauma-informed, attachment-focused approach, therapy supports nervous system regulation, trauma processing, boundary development, and identity repair.
This work helps individuals move from reactivity to awareness, from self-doubt to self-trust, and from repeating old patterns to making intentional, grounded choices in relationships and life. When desired, Christian faith and values can be integrated as part of the healing process in a way that is respectful, optional, and supportive.
